Virtual Field Trip Series

Students had the opportunity to learn about art, history, 3D printing, wellness, identity, and many more topics each week. Local community organizations helped develop the lessons and students were able to apply their learning in creative ways at the end of each session.

“I learned more about places in the community like like the Writing Place. I haven’t ever been there and now I really want to go!”

For some of our field trips, community members working for different organizations were able to talk with students about their work and how it contributes positively to the Stockton community.

Local educator Christopher Harrold-Walters took students through the virtual field trips each week, with many students attending most of the ten lesson series and built community with one another during their time together.

Each lesson and learning outcome was rooted in a community organization in their own backyard. For example, students learned about Stockton Parks and what essential components plants in parks need to grow and thrive.
