A 3-day mini camp for 4th - 8th graders held during their Spring Break, designed for students to explore their roots by learning about the resources and opportunities in our local community.

Community Roots Spring Break Camp

In partnership with Edible Schoolyard Stockton, students learned about composting, harvesting, cooking with scraps, and upcycling art.

Students ate many delicious foods, including pizza they assembled themselves. Many students even enjoyed trying new foods and flavors for the first time!

Students had hands-on experience with compost in its different stages, including getting up close with the worms that help break down the organic matter.

After exploring the farm during our scavenger hunt, students drew a map of their community starting with the Edible Schoolyard garden.
